April 30, 2018

Hey Y'all,

Me and Elder Braithwaite have had a good week. I was asked to give a talk in Sac meeting yesterday and we have exchanges this week and I have 2 months left. Woe. Anyways here's the week.

WEDNESDAY- so today we went up to Bessemer and had district meeting and it was a bit different.  Transfers were a week before and we were the only ones who didn't get transferred. So we had lunch at zaxbys and then we went with the Ensley guys to help this lady clear out her house so she could start moving. So we emptied a fish tank and then we took boxes out to her car and then we left and we saw a huge power plant and so we took pictures and then we went home and helped members set up for new beginnings and then we met with our Ward mission Leader then we went home.

THURSDAY- this morning started out rough, we both woke up with stomach issues and so we took it easy and then we felt better around 2 or 3 and then we went and tried to see this person Lea but she wasn't home so then we tried to see this Bible referral but he wasn't home(avoiding us). And then we went to dinner with some members who just moved in. They're the Kemps and sister Kemp surprisingly knows my Uncle Cory. So it's a small world. Then we went to basketball that night and then we came home.

FRIDAY- So today we went out at 3 again and we tried seeing this person but they weren't home so we went to the church and did some family history and then we went to a dinner appointment with Cory and then we tried to go see a less active but on the way there they canceled and so we went and did family history and I prepared my talk. Then we came home. I've also been keeping up with the Jazz, lol they're doing good.

SATURDAY- today we went to the church to get my talk prepared and like wow I can't believe how much my I'm like my ancestors it's crazy.  I'm doing my talk on Family History and sharing stories from my ancestors. Some are wild. Lol then we saw this investigator William and then we went home because we both were really exhausted.

SUNDAY- today was a good day. We went to church and I thought I was gonna give a 30 min talk but it ended up being a 20 min talk. Cause this lady was supposed to talk on the power of the Book of Mormon but she spoke of Christs resurrection and death and the new testimony and she kept on going and going and going. Lol. So I gave mine and then we had the rest of church then we went home and then we went to dinner that night and then we tried seeing some people then we came home.

MONDAY- so today were going bowling at 1 with a couple and two other sets of missionaries.  One guy thinks he can beat me (he won’t). And then we have a dinner appointment tonight. We’re trying to see some less actives tonight. We have exchanges on Wednesday and Thursday. Zone Conference is Thursday. We’re seeing Lea tomorrow. She's a difficult person to get a hold of. That's about it.

Our baptism from last week has been sick this past week. We're gonna meet with him prob on Thursday.

Love to hear about the week mom! Can't believe it either, we've (you) made it this far.

My talk went really well I wasn't that nervous either. Watch when I get home and give my homecoming talk, you won't even know if it's the same person. I mainly shared stories of my Family but I had read this as well, you might like it. It's a Conference talk from 2010.

When I think of the love I feel for each member of our family, I sense, to a slight degree, the love that our Heavenly Father bears for His children. While the family is under attack throughout the world, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints proclaims, promotes, and protects the truth that the family is central to the Creator’s plan for the eternal destiny of His children. “The Family: A Proclamation to the World” and our vast family history efforts are but two evidences of how this Church brings hope and help to the sacred institution of the family.
We teach that God’s love for His children is infinite. Regardless of race, nationality, or gender, He loves all of them. He has done so from the beginning and will continue to do so. He invites all to gain eternal exaltation for their family. His work and His glory is to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life—the exaltation—of His children. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
The Atonement of His Beloved Son enabled both of the Father’s objectives to be fulfilled. Without the Atonement, there would be no immortality. Without the Atonement, there would be no return to the presence of the Father and no continuation of the family beyond the grave.
Because of the Atonement, these consummate blessings can be realized by each of God’s children who obey His eternal laws. Through the ages, many of His children have had access to the blessings of the gospel, but many more have not. Before the foundation of the world, our Heavenly Father instituted the ordinance of baptism for those who die without a knowledge of the gospel. He loves those children too.
He also provided a way for them to be part of an eternal family. Every human being who comes to this earth is the product of generations of parents. We have a natural yearning to connect with our ancestors. This desire dwells in our hearts, regardless of age.
Consider the spiritual connections that are formed when a young woman helps her grandmother enter family information into a computer or when a young man sees the name of his great-grandfather on a census record. When our hearts turn to our ancestors, something changes inside us. We feel part of something greater than ourselves. Our inborn yearnings for family connections are fulfilled when we are linked to our ancestors through sacred ordinances of the temple.

Yeah somthin in me has got me going with family history. I think it's the genes from Grandpa Webb, he was big with it.

Well that's the week everyone. Hopefully your week is filled with chocolate and candy! Love y'all! THE CHURCH IS TRUE AND THE BOOK IS BLUE!
