HEY MOM!!!!!!
My week was great. We had a district meeting and we did that service for Jacksonville. Oh and were teaching this kid named Gavin. He's 12 years old and he's got the height like me. I think he's taller than me. He also wears size 16 shoe. I wear 13. Lol. But he's got a baptism date for the 14th of April so we hope he's prepared for it. His dad is a less active and his mom is not a member but she's ok with it. His parents are divorced and his dad has custody of him. They think he will let him. He needs all 6 lessons and he needs to be interviewed. His dad has to sign some papers.
The Jacksonville project. Yeah I saw the pictures you posted on Facebook. I had no idea that they took those pics. We were tearing out trees and more trees. It was unbelievable. In Utah you only see the destruction of a tornado on tv. But when your there in person and you see the people, it’s a whole lot different. We worked from 6am in the morning to 5pm at night. We were so tired. When we were doing it this one guy gave me a nickname called Haus which means Animal haha. But yeah there was a baseball field there and a 30ft bleacher had flown across the rd and was in the trees. It was one thing I will remember for the rest of my life
I LOVED THE EASTER EGG!!!! I didn't expect that at all. It took me awhile to get it open though. Lol. All the tape and stuff. But I was very thankful for it. I thank all of y'all. Y'all are the best. Elder Lewis once told me. "Cherish your family Elder Webb. Cause not that many people have a loving, caring family like you do. Always remember that". Those words made me know for a fact that God is aware of me. He put me in the perfect family. I love y'all.
Here's my week. I'm writing this on my phone so hopefully the spelling will be good. Lol.
TUESDAY- So we had district meeting and we all got a long really well. They had me impersonate this guy that one of my past comps told me about and I had people dying almost falling out of their chairs laughing so hard. Haha. Then we went to lunch and then we came back to Jasper and a less active called and she said she had an Easter surprise for us. So we went straight over there. She wasn't there but her husband John was there. He was really funny. He even thought me and Elder Braithwaite played football together. Haha. But the surprise was a cake and a basket full of stuff for us. Then we went to Wal-Mart and then we went to the Church and did some family history.
WEDNESDAY- Today we went to teach this 12 year old guy named Gavin. His grandparents lived in Nauvoo Alabama yeah there's a place in bama called Nauvoo. He's 6 4 and has a shoe size that's 16. I'm 13 that's crazy. We taught him at a members and they fed us and then we waited for Gavin to get to the house then we taught him the restoration. He's a cool kid I'll tell ya. So then we left and we went to Wal-Mart and got some Easter eggs and then we went to the Church and put 2 pieces of paper inside that said" without Christ there would be no Easter" and then one piece that said Mormon.org. So we did that for awhile then we helped clean up from the Easter primary thing then we went and placed some eggs around town. Then we came home.
THURSDAY- Today was a great day we went to the Church and met Gavin and his grandparents and so we taught Gavin about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the restoration video. This guy is so solid. He read and prayed and he described his feelings and they were on point. We also set a bap date with him for the 14th of April. Then we went to Chick Fla with them. And then we went back to the Church so elder Braithwaite could post something and then we went home and changed and then we went and played bball at the Church then we came home. We're starting a bball night at the Church here.
FRIDAY- So today we stayed in most of the day. Elder Braithwaite was feeling like total garbage and so I just let him sleep. I read my scriptures and wrote in my journal and watched some church movies and at about 4 he came out and he looked a lot better. So he got in the shower and then we went to the Church for some family history and then we went and placed some eggs again. Then we went home for the night. I felt bad for him. He's had a sickness maybe you know it. Where he gets headaches a lot and they last for the longest time. And when he had his doctors appointment the pills that he takes involves him getting sick as well. So he's just in a bad spot. President knows of his illness. He has a nurse that's helping him, he's going back on the 10th and we will see what happens. He doesn't tell me a whole lot about it. He's not talking I know that for sure.
SATURDAY- So today was a big/tiring day. We got up at 330 in the morning and we went to Anniston for the tornado clean up. A week ago the high council asked for some volunteers for cleanup and they said missionaries were invited. So we went with Brother Prestrige. So then we did the clean up and wow. There were trees everywhere and tree trunks ripped out of the ground and tops of buildings ripped off. House with no roof. It was a sight to see. I had a nickname down there named Haus (Animal) because I was ripping so much tree LIMBS and really heavy ones. There was also a bleacher on a baseball field which had flown across the street and went into the trees on the other side of the road. It was a 30ft bleacher. Then we went home we stopped at Jack's and then Bass pro then we got home at 730 and showered and then we went to bed. Lol.
SUNDAY- Today we went to the Church and we watched General Conference. It was us and 2 other members. And I was just blown away with the changes but that's a good sign God is hastening his work and we are seeing it. There was also a lot of energy at this conference. I LOVED it and President Nelson seems like he's a pro at doing this stuff. Lol. So then after conference we stayed and watched some talks from yesterday and then we went and saw William and Brittney (some investigators) and gave them a restoration DVD and then we came home.
NICE that Ashlyn made the cheer team again! GOOD FOR HER!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy cow on the kitchen remodel. Y'all are just changing things back home!
I'm drinking a lot of water and I need to cut out eating out a lot. But I do NOT want to be put in a biking area. I did it for a year. That's my fear right now if I get put in a biking area.
It doesn't matter if we email family on the phone or on the computer. As long as you use email it's fine.
Lol, you’re making fun of my clothes? So I had no pants (too small and I can move a lot more with shorts). I wore a long sleeve shirt because I didn't want to get a sunburn. And guess what I didn't. Elder Braithwaite and Standifird got hammered with a sun burn.
We're going to see the Mannings today she said we can come today. She's been really busy with her son and family.
LOVE YOU!!
Elder Webb
Here’s a thing that a missionary sent me. It is in his weekly email. haha I even use most of these words. haha
So I figured that today I would teach y'all some southern vocabulary because I haven't really done that yet. Even though Alabama is in the US it has a completely different language and different terms and words. So ladies and gentlemen, this is some of what I have learned on my mission:
Billfold: Another term for a wallet
Y'all: You+All
A'int: Are+Not
Y'aint: Y'all+A'int
Finn'a: The ghetto pronunciation of "fixin' to" which means "I am about to do something
Over yonder: Over there
Precious: Pathetic --for example "oh jimmy just ate some dirt, isn't he so precious?"
Buggy: A shopping cart
M'am and Sir: Terms of respect. Don't call a man a "m'am" or a woman a "sir" because it is embarrasing for both of you.
Bless your heart: Definitely NOT a compliment-- if somebody blesses your heart it is not a good thing
Coke: Any kind of soda
A Switch: Something like a branch or a belt that would be used to beat a child for being naughty
Slap ya mama: A delicious cajun spice brand that goes well on almost any food
I Reckon: It think so
