Hey mom!
It’s gonna be a short email. But we had a district activity and we had a bball game and a 3 point contest and we played speed. We are staying in Birmingham with the Ensley elders because district meeting is tomorrow and it’s just pointless to just go back down to Jasper and then come back up.
Zone conference is on the 5th of April. But we had a tech training which was really good. I could feel the love pres has for everyone. My phone’s awesome. So the rules about Facebook is that we have to use it for missionary purposes. So that’s why I’ve been putting stuff missionary related. And the cover photo is because we believe in the risen Christ. So that’s why I have that. Lol yep so you’ll know I’m safe when I’m on Facebook.
We have a 12 year old who wants to start taking the lessons and he’s already insisting on being baptized so that’s cool. Elder B is taking this pill that he has to take and it’s been making him sick in the morning. He’s gonna go to the doctors next week but he’s been feeling bad still in the mornings. Like we missed church last week. Sister Manning has been out of town lately so we haven’t been able to see her.
I wish I was there to hear your sacrament talk lol. Would’ve made me cry lol.
Oh wow new kitchen. Cool. A lot of new things ill see when I come home. I will look for the surprise in the mail. Lol. Ill write yall a letter soon.
We are going to a dinner appointment with the Ensley guys here in 10 min.
THANKS MOM, LOVE YOU FOREVER!!!!

Hey mom!
We went to docs baptism. It was awesome she loved it and we got some pictures. My camera isn't working rn but ill forward an email with pictures. I was a witness at docs baptism and that was awesome. Elder Dawson was the other witness. Me and him, the guys who got her to commit haha. Me and Elder Dawson said that this was our baptism cause we got her to commit. So that 1 baptism we got! haha. I saw a lot of people there that knew me. It was so cool.
I won’t have time for the long weekly email because were at the library today. A transformer went out in the church yesterday. So idk when they will have wifi back. I LOVED THE NEW DEBIT CARD with the elk on it. My friends here thought it was so cool. We get our phones on Wednesday. So I’ll be able to get on facebook.
We are going to see the manning’s today. We are going there then we are seeing a referral tonight who wants to learn more about the book of mormon. We are also teaming up with the Cullman sisters (sister Gilbert you know her aunt) with a guy named Daniel. He’s getting the discussions from them and he’s in our boundaries. We’re supposed to be getting a big storm here soon, schools have shut down as well.
This morning Elder Braithwaite was not feeling well and we did laundry. He has some problems that he doesn’t like to talk about. (he takes pills for it which has some side effects). He says it will be gone soon. He gets random migraines a lot. It’s ok I’m learning from the scriptures more. I’m trying to help him all that I can. . We missed church yesterday because elder Braithwaite felt like he was gonna throw up.
Not much happened this week. We’ve had a lot of referrals though. Not much dinners. We had non this last week. We went on exchanges this week as well.
I seen Ashlyns prom picture. Tell her that all dates have to be approved by me. haha. I’d say I think her and Jaron should go together. He’s awesome. I love that kid.
Anyways here’s the pics.
Alright mom, my times up. I love you and I’ll talk to you soon.

March 12, 2018 -- Letter from Kaden to the Ward
I was asked to speak in sacrament meeting and have Kaden write a letter to the ward that I can share to them. This is his letter!
I always thought of going on a mission because I just had a feeling it was something I should do since I was a little boy. When I started to get older it started to get really scary. I mean leaving your family for 2 years is really hard. But Jesus Christ left his Father for a long time. I always looked up to my dad for advice and he also went on a mission so that pushed me more to go. When it was my time to go I was really scared for what the 2 next years of my life would do to me. The things I’ve learned out here are ones that I will cherish in my heart forever. The good, the bad, the in between. Some of the bad moments I’ve had on my mission have really humbled me to just go with it. I remember one of my comps saying this to me which helped me out along the way. He told me think of Jesus he was hated and loved just like we are. I can’t remember where I got this from but Jesus once said "just remember that the world hated me before it hated you". I always keep that in my mind wherever I go. On my mission I’ve seen how much I can learn about life out here and it puts you in positions where you will grow and learn. I have seen Heavenly Father answer my prayers and as well put me in places where I can help people. The good times on my mission I will never forget. People see a light in us as members and we may not see it in ourselves but nonmembers see it and always wonder what is with the Mormons being so happy and have this like glow to them? I have seen myself grow from the experiences I’ve had out here. I believe that Heavenly Father put me here to help the people grow and as well help me become the man I am supposed to become. I’ve learned that as you look at everyone in the world as your brothers and sisters, your attitude changes towards them. God is in this great work and he couldn't do this without his sons and daughters on this earth helping him along the way. Every one of us has our own challenges but I promise you that as you look to others and help them and forget yourself that the Lords blessings will come upon you over and over and over again. Because that’s happened to me.
I will close with bearing my witness of the truth of this Gospel. I solemnly testify that this is the TRUE church of Jesus Christ on the earth today. He is leading his church with Prophets and Apostles. I know that he knows each and every one of you. The Apostle, Elder Anderson came to our mission and he told a story about a guy that felt blessed and he said "I knew that God knew that I knew that I was blessed". I feel that same way. I testify of the Book of Mormon. That it is the true word of God. Joseph Smith said in the introduction of the Book of Mormon that a man may get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts than any other book. I know that to be true. I know that our Brother Jesus Christ died for us and rose from death to help us along the way and gave us hope. I testify that we have a true Prophet of this earth who leads and guides us through divine revelation. I testify of this in the name of our Savior Jesus Christ, the holy one of Israel, Amen.

March 12, 2018 -- New Companion, Elder Braithwaite
Hey mom!
My Comp is awesome, his name is Elder Braithwaite. He’s from Ephraim Utah. He was my district leader in Selma. I’ll show you a picture of the district down there. He’s been out for 19 months. He came out 1 transfer after me. Sister Gilbert goes home this transfer. You know her aunt. My stomach pain is fully gone, idk what it was but it’s gone now.
Wow Ash is working at Zupas huh. I’ll have to go there when I get home cause I bet I’ll get a discount. Lol. Oh very cool about your bday. I sent you and dad both cards. Dads is pretty funny and yours I made special. Warning you might cry. I was feeling the spirit when I wrote the card so good luck.
Here’s the week. I have no pictures this week.
TUESDAY- Elder Cluff packed most of the day. He was really sad about leaving Jasper but we had a great last day together.
WEDNESDAY- So we got up this morning and elder Cluff packed the rest of his stuff up and then we went to transfers. I saw a lot of missionaries that I knew there and a lot of them were talking about Docs baptism. She’s getting baptized on March 17th and so then we had the meeting and that’s when I got put with this guy Elder Braithwaite who’s from Ephraim UT. We’ve served around each other a lot and he knows some of my friends from Nephi. So then we waited for president to interview Elder Braithwaite for some reason then he interviewed me. Apparently there someone told president that me and elder cluff were watching movies. And I talked to him about that and told him we weren’t and then he talked about my last 4 months of how he wants me to be the best I can be. That is what I am focusing on. Then we went back to jasper. Our first stop was at a member’s house and then we went to a dinner appointment. Elder Braithwaite found a piece of hair in the chili and so he was a little terrified about the food. Then we left and we went to our house and dropped off his stuff then we had our book of Mormon class and then we went home for the night.
THURSDAY- Today we went to Walmart to shop for elder Braithwaite and there was a lot of old people there. It was probably the first time I’d ever seen that much old people in Jasper. Then after 2 hours of shopping we went home and had lunch and then we did comp study and got to know each other then we went to try and see this referral. We found the address but the person wasn’t home so we called him and he told us try another day. Then we went and tracted a place and we handed a book of Mormon to this lady and she lived in Birmingham so then we went to the church and tried to find some places to do some service at and as well get some referrals and then we went to this Guy Evans and we took his water heater out of his house and then we went to our dinner appointment at the Cranors and they fed us pizza. He told us his story about his first prayer. Then he said this "if there’s anybody who complains about giving a prayer, get over it!” Then we went home for the night. He showed us a lot of pictures and he wanted help with his computer.
FRIDAY- Today was a good day. So in the morning we went to bham for Elder Braithwaites doctor’s appointment and it took about an hour so then we went home and we both felt like crap so we took a power nap and then we went and tried to sees some less actives but most of them weren't home so we tracted a bit and we only handed out a book of Mormon. Then we decided to go to Walmart so Elder Braithwaite could get some cleaning supplies and I got my mom a birthday card which will probably make her cry (for good). Then we went home and we had dinner and then we went to see these investigators William and Brittney but Brittney and Williams’s dad were the only ones home so we talked with them and then we said a prayer and then we left and then went home for the night.
SATURDAY- Today was a good day. We went to the church and did some family history. I found out that some of my ancestors on my dad’s side served missions in the Southern states as well as California and then we left and went home for lunch and then we did comp study and then we did weekly planning. Turns out that we know a lot of people that we are friends with back home. Crazy, then we tried to see some less actives in a place called Oakman and it was raining the whole day. We found this one guy who had no teeth and so we talked and then we were leaving and he looked at me and said do you play Football sir? and so we laughed and then we tried to see some other people and they weren’t home so then we drove out to a members named Cory for dinner. He fed us Turkey Burgers and some potatoes and then he showed us some ghost pictures from the haunted old Cahaba and then we went to see William later that night and shared a scripture with him and then we came home.
SUNDAY- today was a great day. So we had PEC in the morning and then we had church and there was a returned missionary from the Ensley branch that served in my home ward a year ago. He served in Draper, South Jordan, West Jordan. So that was really cool and then I met another person who is great friends with my Uncle Cory. Her name is Marina and she worked at the same high school that I went to. She recognized me. We also taught gospel doctrine and we talked about faith and ether chapter 12 and then we went home and had lunch. We both had bad headaches so we took a long nap and then we had dinner and then we went and saw these less actives the Hutchingsons and we talked with them and we shared a message with them and then we tried to store contact for the rest of the night but nobody was interested. So then we went home.
MONDAY- Today we got up and Elder Braithwaite had a fever for some reason and so he slept and I read my scriptures and watched 17 miracles and then he felt better by lunch and then we came to the church to email and here we are now.
That’s my week and we’re trying our best to tract and find people. This next week we are going to Selma on Saturday to attend a baptism that me and Elder Braithwaite were invited too.
Tonight we are probably seeing some less actives. We haven’t planned yet since he was sick in the morning.
We will get our phones on the 21st.
Alright have a great week mom!!!!!!

March 5, 2018
Prelude: We got an email from Kaden on Saturday telling us his stomach was hurting and had a pain on his lower right side and was suspecting appendicitis. I had him do a few “self diagnostic tests” and then we decided to wait a little bit and see if it got worse or better. Sister Alice Manning (a member in the area) is a life saver and we kept in contact with texts as she was watching over him for the weekend!
Hey mom!
The stomach pain is not as bad today. I think I just strained it or just pulled a muscle in that area but I think it’s slowly going away. The only reason I told you is because of the signs indicating it might be appendicitis. I didn’t want to worry you.
Transfer new is Elder Cluff is leaving and I’m staying. Like he was so mad last night and I was too.
We are gonna go to the Mannings and hang there and then probably go to a dinner appointment tonight.
Anyways here the week.
TUESDAY- Today was a good day. We had district meeting and since it was the last one some of the people bore their testimonies and we focused on people keeping their commitments. Then we talked about investigators and then we went to lunch at Wendy’s and then Elder Standifird wanted us to come play some pool for a sec so we played a game then we went home and got stuck in traffic. By the time we got back we went right to the Bakers and I washed their dishes then we had chicken then we played aggravation for the rest of the night. Then we went home.
WEDNESDAY- Today was a good day. We tried to go see some less actives in the morning but some of the addresses weren't right so then we went to Walmart to get some groceries and then came back for lunch. Then we went to Alice’s and helped her with some pay checks then we helped her rearrange Luke’s room. We went to scripture class and it was me and Elder cluff and this guy Cory. Then we had our coordination meeting with our branch leader and then after he took us to go get some food at Jim n nicks and then we went home and ate and that was the day.
THURSDAY- So today was a weird day. So we got a call in the morning saying that the ZLS were coming to do an exchange with us. And so we cleaned up a bit then we did studies and then they got here and we went to subway for lunch and then we went back to the apartment and then we did weekly planning. Then we went with our comps. I went with this guy Elder Gwira. He’s from D.C. and he’s originally from south Africa. Anyways I talked to him in comp study why they came and he said pres. called them and told them to have an exchange with us. I don’t know why they came. Usually if the zls are told to come it’s because the companionship isn’t getting along too well. But me and Cluff like each other and we haven’t said anything to hurt each other. So idk why they did. So then we went out to try and see a less active but nothing so we tracted and we met a pastor and we gave him a book of mormon and he was pretty interested. It was really cool. Then we went home and we had dinner then after we played Uno then we tried to go see our investigators William and Brittney but they weren’t home so we went to see another investigator but she wasn’t home so we went to the mall and Elder Gwira ended up buying some cool shoes and then we went home after. We got along pretty well then we played some Uno and then we went to bed.
FRIDAY- Today we got up and we went to the church in the morning and threw a football around then we went back and Elder Fotu gave me and Elder Cluff a haircut. Then we did our studies and then we went to Wendy’s for lunch and then we went to Evan Eppersons and helped him with his lawn mower and then we raked his leaves with him then we went home and took a power nap then we went to try and see some people but nothing so we went to try and see a referral but nothing. We went to Cory’s and had some dinner then we went home after cause it was late.
SATURDAY- Today I got up and I had the pain in my lower right part of my stomach and so I just was like I’ll get through it. So then we went to Tommy’s and then we went to the church for a bit cause it was hurting and I asked my mom some medical stuff then we left then we went home and had lunch and then we went and tried some tracting/see less actives but nothing so then we went out to Berry Alabama and visited some people that elder cluff knew and we played uno and had dinner there and then we went home for the night.
SUNDAY- Today we went to church and they had testimony meeting and then we had the rest of church. We went home and Elder Cluff wasn’t feeling too well so he took a nap and then we went to the Archabalds that night and played aggravation and then we came home and we got transfer calls and Elder Cluff is leaving and I’m staying. It sucks because he didn’t want to leave because he only had 6 weeks left. Lol. Cluff wanted to stay here for his last transfer but now he has to worry about learning new names. I feel bad for him. I’m glad I’m staying though.
MONDAY- Today we got up and we are at the church and then we are going to a members then we have a dinner appointment.
I’m gonna be a witness for the Doc’s baptism with Elder Dawson. So far everything is still a go.
Love, Elder Webb
