Handwritten letter from Kaden!

October 6, 2016

So the reason I wrote this is because I am usually busy on p-days. So I will tell ya’ll about my experiences through my mission so far. I’ve been writing in my journal every night.  I will share some entries that I put in there.

September 1, 2016:  We had a pretty good day in the morning.  We went to try to find some less actives but they weren’t home.  So we went and saw our investigator Frank but he blew us off.  Frank at one point wanted to be baptized but he realized that he had to be married or he had to leave his girlfriend’s home.  So he said “this is not right for me”.  After we tried to see Frank, we went with the sisters to teach this guy William.  He is their investigator but they wanted us to come with.  We taught him the Plan of Salvation.  He committed to pray and come to church.  After we saw him, we went to the church and played basketball with some of the young men of the ward.  When we were done playing basketball, we taught them and showed them the “Tyler Haws” Mormon message or what is called “A work in progress”.  Then we went home and planned for the next day and went to bed.

July 26, 2016:  Well I finally made it.  I’m in Alabama.  Holy cow, is this even real?  I’m filled with mixed emotions.  We flew in on Delta Airlines to Atlanta GA then to Alabama where we met President Sainsbury and his wife.  Then we went to the mission home and had dinner.  It was lasagna at 3:30.  Then President Sainsbury interviewed all of us there.  We all talked then we went and spent the night at a hotel!  It’s very nice but only for the night. So I’m gonna try my best and hopefully get through the mission.

That was the first day here.  I’ve enjoyed my mission so far.  Elder Lewis is very honest and is very kind and is doing his best to help me become the best I can be.  I’m gonna miss him when one of us leave.  We both think he will leave this transfer.  Here’s one more from August.

August 7, 2016:  Today was Sunday.  Just a typical Sunday with sacrament meeting.  Plus I got to bare my testimony that the church is true.  We met a few people.  It was a short one but 3 new investigators came out to church.

There have been some long days and short days.  The days go by slow sometimes and the weeks go by fast.  I can’t believe I’ve been out 3 months.  It feels like I just got here.  Go on my facebook profile and on messages there will be a person named Emily Hammon.  Send her a friend request.  She’s a convert and really likes me and Elder Lewis.  Elder Lewis hasn’t gotten one package from anyone.  He’s a little worried about the hurricane back home.  People have asked me why I wanted to serve a mission.  I tell them “I came here to do the Lords work and because my dad did it, so why can’t I?”  I’ve gave so many blessings of comfort.  Back at my two month mark, I got sick and Elder Lewis gave me consecrated oil and a blessing.  I felt better 5 minutes after.  Just today this lady Erica had a 3 year contention with her mother because she was angry with her that whole time.  But this morning she went and apologized to her.  Then we went and taught her about the gospel of Jesus Christ.  She thought that was cool.  There’s a place here called Frios.  It’s like a popsicle place.  It’s really good.  Every day I always think of what it will be like to go back home in 2018.  It’s been really fun out here so far.  The sisters are so nice.  They haven’t sent you a letter yet but just expect one sometime.  I’ve kept all the letters ya’ll have sent me.  Alabama is such a great place to serve a mission.  Ya’ll should send me letters.  I love seeing those just like you love to get this one.  I love Tyler and Ashlyn.  I love my parents so much.  Love ya’ll forever.  Elder Webb

P.S.  I’m going to send letters like this a lot more.  I think it’s fun.
