Hey Y'all!!!

This week has been a good week.  My comp Elder Braithwaite hasn't been feeling the best ever since he got sick. But hey we’re rolling with the punches and having a grand ole time! But we got news last night that Elder Braithwaite will be leaving. That just made us sooo mad. We've loved serving here in Jasper and we care about each other. I don't know who I'll get. I’m sad he's leaving but I'm glad cause I can go work for my last 6 weeks.  But like I said before roll with the punches. I could be getting into a trio, the assistants called and asked if we had an extra mattress. So lol could be. The Ensley Elders are both staying. Anyways here's my week.

TUESDAY- So yesterday we got permission to stay the night in Ensley for our district meeting the next day. So that night we played aggravation and me and our district leader Elder Ramsey beat the other guys by 2 games. We were so happy. In the morning we went to district meeting and it went well we all laughed and learned new things. Then we had Zaxbys for lunch and we took a district picture and then we went back to Jasper and tried to see some referrals but they weren't home so we went to The Bakers for dinner and the dad Phil confessed an addiction he has and we gave him council and a blessing and helped them both with their relationship. Then we came home.

WEDNESDAY- Today was a good day we went and tried to see this recent convert Gavin but he wasn't home so we stopped by bro & sis Fernandez and talked with them and said a prayer with them then we went to the church for Book of Mormon class and it went really well. Even though there was only 2 people who showed up we still had a great time. Then we met with Brother Stewart for our coordination meeting and he gave us an update on the NBA playoffs and then we went home and played some aggravation. We play that when we come in at 9. It's a good way to talk with each other while playing a game.

THURSDAY- Today was a sick day for elder Braithwaite (I know he's not faking it cause I've had comps who did and I can tell he's sick, poor guy. I just support and help him the best I can). So we mainly stayed in for the day but at night we decided to go to the church and shoot some hoops since we were inside most of the day. Then we went home. I called people, read scriptures, and watched church approved movies.

FRIDAY- Today we went and tried to see this lady who wanted a blessing but she wasn't home at the time so we went to try and see Kathy Williams but she wasn't home either. So then we went to the church and did some family history and then we went to this guy named Cory for a dinner appointment and had his homemade pizza and then we went to try and see some other people then we came home for the night.

SATURDAY- Today we went to see Sandra Gerlitzki and gave her a blessing and some words of comfort.  She had a brother pass away and she needed some comfort. When we got there this is what she said "yeah my brother passed away and his corpse is in the bedroom" it scared me at first but she meant his ashes are back there. Lol. Then we went to see Webb Rd and took pictures and a video and then we went to Sumiton and saw some referrals but they weren't home so we tried to see some members but they weren't home so we went back to Jasper and went home to make our progress record for branch council in the morning.

SUNDAY- So we had branch council and there were 2 people who attended from the Inverness ward and they recognized me and talked to me. Then in Elders quorum we had a great lesson and I learned an abbreviation version of the word Church here it is.
C: Choose
H: Holy Sabbath
U: Unity
R: Respect & Record
C: Covenant
H: Holy Ghost
And to have a good attitude when you come. You'll get a lot more out of the best 3 hours of your week. Then we went home and then we had a dinner appointment and the kids there asked us questions about Utah and the hunting there. It was really cool. Then we went home.

MONDAY- Today was a sick day for my comp he looked terrible. We went to a lunch appointment then we came home and he took it easy for the rest of the day. Poor guy. Then we got transfer news and we were both pissed cause Elder Braithwaite is leaving and taking a position as a Zone Leader which puts a lot of stress on his shoulders. But he'll be ok. He's in God's hands. Whom the Lord calls he qualifies. That was the night. He's been packing a lot already. President called us right after the news and I told him I'm stressed to have to show a new guy around. But oh well.

Today we were supposed to go fishing but it's been pouring rain and so we didn't go. Elder Braithwaite is gonna be packing and saying goodbye to members. It's hard to see someone leave an area when the people get so close to them. But it's what we go through. We're gonna go see the Bakers, Eppersons, and Cory tonight for elder Braithwaite.

I want you to create an event on facebook announcing my homecoming.  It'll let people know what time and where.

I’ve missed Alice a lot, we've just been super busy on Mondays. I'm seeing her tomorrow after transfers. She likes to meet the guys. I'll probably talk to her and see how she's doing.

We're staying at the Marriott in Hoover the night before I come home. You'll get to meet some of my former comps too.
Haven't heard from Gavin he was supposed to come to church but he's been lazy and stuff been going on. His dad's less active and his mom isn't a member so he only has his grandparents to help him. Including us. He’s 12 so he doesn't have the full mind yet on the importance of it. He'll come back sometime.

The cabin looks really nice.

Man the last transfer and I’m getting a new guy (possibly put in a trio).  LOL it’s been a ride I tell ya.  You were right, a lot of friends made and a lot of life lessons when I’m here.  I’m gonna make these 6 weeks the best weeks of my life!

Hey Mom!

So all this week my comp has been sick. He's had a hard time with pills and being sick. He's feeling better today. So idk.  He just wasn't feeling well and he didn't want to get anyone else sick. President knows about Elder Braithwaite and his sicknesses. He wants me to be supportive of him. That's why President puts me with these people. Cause I can relate with them. So we've spent time inside. So not much went on that was really exciting.

I’m not sick but I just couldn’t sleep Saturday night.  My heart was racing for some reason.  It scared me.  Maybe I was having anxiety, I don’t know. I’ve been thinking of my weight too.  Ugh its stressful right now with everything.  When Brathwaite gets better were going to start going to the church and run and shoot hoop in the mornings.  Don’t panic!  That’s the last thing I’d want you to do. 

I was kinda stressed about what to do home cause people always ask me what are you gonna do when your home? But I'll be fine. I'm enjoying my time here and I cherish every moment. I'm not worried about stuff back home. God has a plan for me. He's still writing it.

We haven't heard from Gavin. He's having a lot of stuff going on. His grandparents told us Satan is really pushing him. He hasn't made contact with us. We've tried going to his house, calling him, inviting him to basketball by text.

We went fishing this morning with a member and with the Ensley elders.  I didn’t fish too much, just caught seaweed.  I am scared of catfish though.  Elder B loves to hunt and fish so he was determined to get a cat. Lol!  He caught a turtle and a blue gill though. Elder Ramsey almost caught a catfish. But it got off.  The members house we were at made us brunch.  She makes top notch food. 

I’ve been playing aggravation with Elder Ramsey and the other elders are still fishing. We are staying here in Ensley overnight cuz we have district meeting in the morning so it’ll be fun. 

It's funny seeing the picture of Tyler at the podium for school. Haha. Boy am I glad not to be driving in Utah right now with Ashlyn having her license! I'll be alive for 2 more months. Lol jk.

I'm heading with Elder Ramsey to a dinner appointment. Not much this next week.  Referrals were gonna go contact.

Hey yall!

This week has been ABSOLUTLY one of the best weeks of my mission. We had an exchange, had interviews with President, Skyped home and were getting a lot of referrals! So anyways without further ado here's my week.

TUESDAY- So today we had our exchange with Ensley and I went with this guy Elder Ramsey. We had district meeting first and that was good really spiritual role plays and we all had a good laugh as well. Then we went to Wendy's and had lunch and talked and then we dropped the Bessemer Elders off and then we went back to the apartment and did comp study, and then all 4 of us went to do service for this guy and we moved logs and set some stuff on fire! Man I love the South! Lol. Then they had a German Shepard and she was the nicest dog I'd met. They when we were about to leave the guy looks at me and says l "how long do you have left on your mission?" I told him 2 months. He's says here take the dog. Lol she loves you more than me. Lol. He's joking. So then we left and went home and me and Elder Ramsey tried seeing a couple referrals before we had to go in. In Ensley it's so dangerous you be got to be in by about 7 or 730. So we went to the game room and played pool. I didn't do too hot. Lol. That was the day.

WEDNESDAY- today we got up and one of the guys had a headache so we didn't leave until about 11. But when he was ready we did our comp exchange review. Then we went back to Jasper and we did comp study and unpacked and then we went and tried to see a Referral but sadly they didn't answer. So we went to Book of Mormon Class and nobody showed up so we had our Branch mission leader come and we had our coordination with him as we talked for a LONG time about different subjects. We learned that at one point he was the Branch President awhile back which was really cool. Then we went home and that was the day.

THURSDAY- today was a great day, we went up to Inverness and had interviews with President Sainsbury and let me tell ya it was the best interview I have ever had on my mission. He told me how much he appreciates my kindness to the missionaries and for being a great example to them. He told me he wants every missionary to become like me, Simone they can always get along with, always laugh with, and always learn from. And I got to admit I got teary eyed at that point. So then after interviews we went and dropped off the Bessemer Elders and then we went home and did comp study and then we went to the Church and did some family history. Then we went home and that was the day mainly. We tried seeing some people but they weren't home. Tried tracting and nothing came from it.

FRIDAY- Today Elder Braithwaite walks up sick so we mainly stayed in until he got feeling better and so while he was sleeping I did some journaling and did some area book stuff and I took a nap as well, then Elder Braithwaite felt a lot better so we went to a dinner appointment with this guy Cory and he fed us chicken and garlic rice. Then we read Moroni 7 with him and then we left and we went to see Gavin but he wasn't home. Gavin is in a rough patch right now. Satan is really toying with him and so were trying to see him now. So after that we went to the Church and did family history and then we went to try and see a less active and then we came home.

SATURDAY- Today was a good day, we went and tried to see a person named Lea but she wasn't home. Ugh. So then we went to the Church and did some family history and then we had a dinner appointment that night with the winns. We had burgers and fries and potato salad and had a great time and then we helped her clean then we went home for the night.

SUNDAY- So today we got up and we went to church and Elder Braithwaite Blessed and I passed the sacrament and then we went on with church and in 3rd our there was an argument about the lesson in 2 weeks. I was pissed because they were acting like children. So then church ended and we went with a member to drop off tithing slips and then we came back to the Church and we did family history. I talked to my grandparents and my Family. It was an awesome experience. I loved every minute of it. So we talked with our family's then we went home dropped off some stuff the we went to the bakers for the night and we played aggravation then we came home.

MONDAY- today were gonna go bowling and email and probably go visit some people.

I'm really happy right now since I'm coming down to the end of my mission and I’m just going out with the best attitude. I've been really blessed.

I felt great after our skype.  Y'all looked safe and laughed which let me know y'all are doing good. And that makes me happy. Dinner with the Bakers last night was good, we had some cocktail wieners.

Hey mom,

I’m not going to do the weekly update.  I don’t have time.  We had a district meeting today and went on a hike.  Here are some pics.  We are staying in Ensley on an exchange.  We are going to a dinner appointment now.

I will send a message on Saturday about details for the Mother’s Day call.
