So we have a recent convert who hasn't come to church in a long time and so on Wednesday night the branch had a thing called shepherd visits (go out and visit people) and so we went with our branch president and we got to see him and he had been in a lot of stress. He was having a hard time. He also told us that he prayed that the branch president and the missionaries would come see him. We gave him a lot of counsel and we also gave him a blessing. And as we are leaving I got the prompting to tell him about this video on lds.org called 'The Savior understands me'. As we left I looked back in and he was watching the video and he started to get teary eyed. I think that made his night. A hard thing I’ve been struggling with is Satan has been really pushing me on the things of back home. The last 2 months I’ve been in this depression that comes out of nowhere. Like it’s hard out here. Don’t worry, it’s nothing. I get past it because God needs me......................... and I need him. Yeah we have some investigators. We have this couple William and Brittney. They aren’t married but they do want to be baptized. Brittney is dealing with divorce stuff. They're the only solid ones. We have another one but most likely she will drop us.
So I reserved Ron on family search so I could do his work in the temple here. But he hasn't had the initiatory done, so I can’t do his endowment and so I was just thinking I could go and do it for him when I get home.
Here’s the week.
TUESDAY- so we went to the dinner appointment and talked with the branch president there and just had a good time then we went home because it was late.
WEDNESDAY- today was a good day we went to the church in the morning so that Elder Cluff could do some stuff. Then we went home for lunch and then we went to try and see some less actives and we finally got to see someone and she had a fake leg. She was bit by a snake and it was a poisonous one so they had to cut her leg off. So we shared a scripture with her then we went home for dinner and then we went to the church for the shepherd visits I mentioned first.
THURSDAY- Today was a good day. It’s been raining a lot this past week and today its 85 degrees. There’s a saying here and it’s this, “ there’s no use taking a shower in the morning cause when you go outside you’ll already be sweating and that shower will be wasted” lol. Anyways we had district meeting today and I gave the closing prayer. Then we went to lunch with the Ensley Elders then we went home and got our oil changed which lasted 3 hours. So we were stuck there then we went home for dinner and then we tried to see some people before the night ended but nothing so we went to our English class and nobody was there. It’s where we teach Mexicans how to speak English. So we just did some family history for an hour then we went home.
FRIDAY- today was a cool day, NO STILL HOT! IT HIT THE 90S!! LOL. So we talked about home in the morning and then we went to this guy Evan Epperson and he was trying to fix his lawn mower and he needed some help so we helped him and then we went and did weekly planning since we didn't do it yesterday. After that we had lunch and then we tried to see some people but none were home so we went and tried to see this person Jackie but nothing so we went to dinner at this guy Cory’s who fed us some ALLIGATOR TAIL!! I've finally had Alligator! I’m so happy, it was really good! It was a stir fry. He put the tail and broccoli and chicken and some sort of soup. I even eat broccoli now. I eat lots of different foods now. You’ll probably be like “is this my son?” lol. No I didn’t eat it with ketchup. I still like ketchup but I don’t usually have it on everything now. I guess it’s starting to digress from me now. Lol. Then we went home after.
SATURDAY- Today was a good day, we did studies in the morning and we went to the mall and we tried to talk to some people but we had no luck so then we went home for lunch. Then we went and tried to see some less actives but they weren't home so we went to an inactive named The Buzbees. They weren't home so we tracted around there and we ran into a guy that respected what we do but he didn’t want to hear the message. So we talked for a while and I convinced him to read the Book of Mormon and pray about it. Then we left and we went to a members nearby and talked with them then we went home for dinner. Then we went to our investigators William and Brittney and read some of the bom with them and then we went home for the night.
SUNDAY- Today was Branch conference and so it was really good. They talked a lot about the book of Mormon and then we had our priesthood meeting and the guy that was teaching knew that I played Lacrosse and he’s like 'like look at this guy he’s the perfect offensive linemen for football and he went and played Lacrosse. I guess you've gotta be tough to get hit by a stick.' Lol. Then we had a small potluck Lasagna and then we waited with this guy Phil for his temple recommend so we could follow him to the bank and then we went home and then we went to try and see some people but nobody was home so we kept trying and nothing so then we went to the Bakers to have dinner with them and play some board games then we went home.
MONDAY- Today we got up and did our laundry and we gave a blessing here at the church to our ward mission leader. He was coming down with the flu. Then we are here. We will probably go over to a members and then tonight we are gonna try some tracting/less actives. We are hoping to go over to Alice’s. We are waiting for her to text us.
I heard from Elder Lewis, he’s doing pretty good. He says it’s pretty weird to be home and he thinks about the mission every day.
Hey tell Tyler he’s gonna lose in basketball when I get home. He’s gonna be really surprised. Lol!
My bike is holding up well. The back tire is a little low but everything is looking fine with it. I have it in our laundry room since we can’t have a washer or dryer.
We were getting rain every day and now we have sun shine. Lol. Good luck with the snow!
I really just don’t care about transfers anymore. What I wish would happen is that I can stay in this area for the rest of my mission. But I doubt that’s gonna happen so idk anymore.
Oh and on the 17th of March Doc is getting baptized and she wants me to be a witness.
The last picture is of my district. The 3rd picture was at an investigators house. It is just what Jasper looks like. Jasper is a lot like Wetumpka.
Well it was good talking to you mom!! We’re gonna head out.
Love you forever!!!!
