September 25, 2017

Hi mom.

Things have been going well here.  The week has been fun, a lot of service again and I’m guessing you got my letter. Yes I’ve been doing terrible with money. Elder Dawson uses his personal card a lot. Elder Morley didn’t like to go out that much, so we didn’t go. I’m not going out for a while. I’m trying to get the temptation away. Elder Dawson wants to go out all the time so it’s kinda hard. I’m living off of hot pockets and nilla wafers rn. Elder Dawsons dad puts a lot of money on his personal card each week so he’s got a lot of money to spend.

IM SO HAPPY TO STAY IN SELMA!!!!!  I hate to move. A lot of anxiety when it comes to that. I think we will either be going to a members house or just to the church for conference. Doc said that last year the missionaries went and watched it at a member’s home and had lunch too. But idk.

OH YA, HAPPY 23RD ANNIVERSARY MOM AND DAD!!!!!! The sacrament program with all the missionaries look good. Wow I’m the 3rd one to the top. Dang everyone's on a mission now. Lol.  Here’s my week. I don’t have any pics this week.  Sorry left my camera in my backpack.

MONDAY- After we left the library we went to docs and told her we don’t know the transfer news yet and all 3 of us were mad because we didn’t know yet. Then we went home and we got the call and then we went and tried to see some people but nobody was home.

TUESDAY- today we got up and we went over to Beth’s and talked with her about the news we got and then we helped mop some water that leaked into the place and then moved some wood.  She gave us money for lunch and so we went to the Hickory Pit and then we went to see some people and go look at some thrift stores.  Then we went to the Motts for dinner and then we went to Docs and then we went and pulled a joke on the harmony club saying we were both leaving and nobody was coming back. Then we went home.

WEDNESDAY- today we went to Book club and everybody was happy to see that nobody left and Elder Dawson gave a report on the 5 love languages and he did very well.  Then we went to the post office so he could send a letter home and then we went to some thrift stores and then we went over to docs and talked with her a bit and then we went to try and see a less active but nope so we went home and wrote in our journals and watched 17 miracles.

THURSDAY- we got up and we went to the food pantry and then we went home and had lunch.  We went to the thrift store and looked at things and then we went to try and see a referral and we handed a Book of Mormon to someone and then we went home for dinner and then we went and saw Doc and then we went home.

FRIDAY-  today we got up and we went to district meeting and it’s not the same.  The new dl makes us sit in a circle and nobody in the district likes him so it was hard. He’s been out 1 transfer longer than me. I gave a preach my gospel training and then after the meeting we went to the Martins for lunch.  Then we went and saw this guy Joe Stockman and then we went to Dirt Cheap and then we went home and saw Doc and talked with her about d meeting and then we went and saw the people from the harmony club.

SATURDAY- Today we went over to Docs and painted and put carpet in her house.  I learned how to put carpet in a house. But of course we get chewed out for something the other missionaries before us did. Like when we were painting we didn’t touch a spot and she’s like, “Guys I’m sick of this, and I’m like I didn’t touch there and she’s like I don’t care yall are the same.” So ya and then did some yard work and then we went to this guy Daniels home and helped him put a new cabinet in his home and then they fed us and then we went home. Doc appreciates us. We just don’t do stuff perfectly, I guess. She’s a hand full.

SUNDAY- Today we went to church and then we went to the Talbots for lunch and then we went to see the kids and the Busters and then crazy Beth.  Then we had dinner and then we went and saw doc for the rest of the night.

MONDAY- Today we went to Walmart and taco bell (I didn’t get anything) and then we came here. We are going over to docs and that’s what we got now. Tonight we will be at the church.  It’s a small church, we will be there fixing some things. We will be having an exchange on Wednesday. We are going on the exchanges with the new dl.  Not sure how that is going to go.
We will be happy when the exchange is over. Zone conference is on Friday, I don’t know when the activity is.

There are two things people here worship, God and Football and sometimes vice versa.

Yes Selma is more of a service mission. We’ve met more and more people that way. No I don’t have many spiritual experiences happening right now, just all work. Sorry mom. If Doc wasn’t gonna be baptized I think this area would close. She’s still coming to church and members are taking her. She’s very involved with the branch. We visit with her and talk about Selma.

Yeah the mission is hard at first but after its all worth it. Plus it’s not like it lasts 40 years. Lol.

That’s funny you’ve been showing my raccoon picture around.  I bet they were like man he is turning into a southerner, working and holding pet raccoons. Lol!
In interviews last time president asked me about yall and I told him yall have been doing well and that the countdown has begun.  He told me to tell yall to not put how many months I have left. It will make me trunky. But I’m not gonna stop yall from doing that.  I like it.

LOVE YOU FOREVER!!!!!!!

September 18, 2017

Hey Mom!!!!!!!

I’m doing great.  First of all we haven't heard about the transfer news. We will hear today as soon as possible. Things are different I guess. We got a text on Saturday saying they won’t be till Sunday or Monday. So when it comes I will let you know. I’m nervous because if I have to leave it’s gonna be a stressful 2-3 days because I have to pack within 2 days and say goodbye within 2 days. But its whatever! I’m just a little mad because of this taking so long to find out about transfers. I want it over with so I don’t have to worry anymore about it. The week wasn't that busy, we did some service but it was a little laid back. I did get your package and I loved the letters y'all sent, it got my spirits up big time. I felt so happy for no reason reading them. The rice krispie treats were still soft.  We are going to get our ticket paid tomorrow because they are closed today.  Here’s the WEEK.

TUESDAY- so after we left the library we went and tried to contact some referrals and then the Camden Elders wanted a guitar that one of them saw in a thrift store and then we met them halfway and gave it to them and then we went back and talked to doc for the rest of the night.

WEDNESDAY- We got up and we went to book club and then we went to Beths and helped her with some wood and taking books and pictures up to the attic.  After that she showed us her knew pet raccoon and she let us hold her. Yes I held a raccoon. Lol. I know raccoons bite but she wasn't she was licking my face Lol. And then she gave us some money to go get lunch and so we went to this place Buffalo steak. I got a hamburger with wings and fries for 6 bucks!!!!! Then we went over to docs and we helped clean rugs.  When we were moving the rugs I was mad because I wanted to get this stuff done so I was pulling the rug and I cut my thumb on the end piece and I was about to cuss but at that moment something came in my head and said JESUS IS IN FRONT OF YOU! And so I just groaned and then doc helped with the cut so it was ok. Then we went home and showered.  It hurt that night.

THURSDAY- So we got up and we went to the food pantry and helped out there and then we got some food and then we went home.  We went to see Marcus and read the scriptures with him and then we went to try to see this guy Ricky and he wasn't home so we went to see this guy Edward but he wasn’t home so we left a bible and book of mormon with him.  Then we went home and had dinner.  I made some mac and cheese and then we went to docs for the rest of the night.

FRIDAY- So today we went to district meeting and I did the ice breaker and then we went to Magnolia and saw their apartment and then we went to Dirt cheap and then we went home after that. We stopped by Docs and then we went to our dinner appointment with sister Allen and then we came back to Docs and she looked at me and asked are you feeling ok? I was just stressed out by Elder Dawsons driving. It’s bad!  Then we went to the harmony club and that was it. I didn’t eat that much either.

SATURDAY- Today we went over to the Harmony club and took old nails out of the stairway and moved some cement bricks and then he got us some lunch.  We went home, showered and went to some thrift stores and then we went to Docs and she talked to us and said she was embarrassed at her walls upstairs because her friends said they didn't look well. Apparently we missed spots. So we had a little talk and then we had dinner and then we went to see some other people and then finished the night at the harmony club.

SUNDAY- We got up and we went to church and for the last 6 Sundays me and Elder Dawson blessed the sacrament. After sacrament meeting, we had our classes and the branch president told us a story about his son on a mission. His son didn’t want to go at all and then one day he left work early and went and talked to the stake pres and came home and told his mom he wanted to serve a mission. He started tearing up and said I’m so proud of my son for making that decision in his life. I pictured dad or you up there saying that. I felt so happy. Then we went home and we tried to see some less actives but they weren't home so we went to Docs and she gave us a lesson and then we went home and Elder Dawson got his suit and gave it to doc to tailor and then we went home.

MONDAY- We are at the library waiting for transfer news and then we will see some people tonight and possibly pack if one of us have to leave.

I also got Ashtons weekly email. It rained a little bit last week but not that much. We mainly have been eating leftovers from members and mainly doc. Elder Dawson eats fruit out of a can or leftovers. I eat leftovers a lot so I decided to switch it up.

Ash does look good in her pictures of homecoming.  I’ll have to show the kid up in bball if Ash still knows him by then. Lol.

Elder Dawsons dad sent me a flute he made with his bare hands and it says KCW on it. The other pics are of this couple the Martins that feed us after district meetings.
Yeah the hard times do change you and it makes you appreciate more things.  I understand you work alot and that’s what yall do to help me and Ash and Ty have fun in whatever we do (mission, Cheer, Soccer).  You two are my heroes. Never forget that.

LOVE YOU THE MOST MOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

***Received a text later in the day that Kaden and Elder Dawson will both be staying in Selma this transfer.

September 12, 2017

Hey Mom!

So things have been going good.  After we left the library yesterday the whole mission got a text saying we needed to stay inside because of the hurricane until further notice. We just went to Docs and stayed there for the rest of the night. It’s been cold and really rainy here. I did laundry last night and I stopped and looked at the clouds and they were moving really fast. It was so cool! Everyone is safe here.   We had our zone activity yesterday and some sisters got rear ended and that was the only thing that went wrong. We played gator ball and volleyball and then bball.  I bet you were really excited when I called.  Sorry I sounded down I was just really tired because we did service all day.  Here’s the week I’ve got some pics.

TUESDAY- We left the library and went to docs and then tried to see some people.

WEDNESDAY- 10 MONTHS!!!!!! So we had interviews and it was ok.  We got chastised a little bit about calling other elders by their last name and not Elder so and so.  The whole mission was getting talked to about it.  But then we left and Elder Dawson got himself a banjo and then we went to lunch with Camden and then we went to the church to lock up.  We went to Docs and then we went and saw this guy Scott and then we went and had dinner and then we finished the night out at docs.

THURSDAY- We got up and we went to Camden and had a district meeting and we played bocce as our ice breaker and then we finished the meeting and we went on an exchange with Camden.  I went with the same guy and we went and saw this guy that worked at a hunting store so I talked with him and then we went finding and nothing came of it.  We went home and had dinner and then we went to a gym and played bball with some old guys who were pretty good. Then we went back to their apartment and that was it.

FRIDAY- We got up and we went home and after we got home we went to Docs and we painted her closets and then we had dinner with her and then we went home and showered and then we went and saw the video of our red light running. Our ticket. And then we went home after that.

SATURDAY- We got up and we went over to the harmony club and took some more of the ceiling out and then we went home at 5.  It took all day.  I finally got up on the ladder and took some of it down even though I’m afraid of heights.  Then we showered and then we went to docs and then we tried to see some referrals but no luck. So we just went home after that.

SUNDAY- We got up and we went over to the church and we had a meeting and then we had church.  We went home and then we went over to docs and then we went to the Schermans and had dinner there, Jambalaya.  Then we went back to docs and had a love lesson. That was it.

MONDAY- We got up and we went to Montgomery for our zone activity and it rained all day.  We played gator ball and volleyball and then we played bball.  We went to Wendy’s and then we went home and we went to the library to email but they closed right then for the hurricane so we went home and they told us to stay in.  So we went and stayed at docs.  We had burritos and then we had a love lesson and just talked. That was it.

TUESDAY- We are emailing now and then we are going to go over to docs and go see some people. We also have a dinner appointment tonight. Some of the pics are of me and Dawson doing the ceiling and the other is me and Morley doing the sign when I first got here.

The other day when we were in interviews I looked out the window and guess what I saw passing by the church?  A UNIFIRST TRUCK!!!!!!!! I smiled and said there goes my dad!

Otherwise I’m doing good. There are some points that are hard and some that are easy. I’ve just learned to survive through it. Some of my comps do things sometimes that I’m like why! But I’m just like it doesn’t last forever so I just keeping going. I still don’t like wearing the church clothes all the time but oh well 10 more months of it. Lol.

I’m going through more money because with my other comp we would cook sometimes, he hated to go out. I followed what he was doing and now this guy likes to eat out. I need to tell myself no a lot more. Lol.

The weather with the hurricane hasn’t been bad.  We only had rain, no wind. They sent a text out this morning and said yall are free to go out. We have the Camden Elders coming later to give Elder Dawson his bag back.

Transfer calls are Saturday and we have no idea what’s gonna happen. I’m nervous to leave. I don’t want another change. I like to stay in places and not leave.

Has it been raining up there at all?  Has dad got a tag to go hunting this year or is he gonna wait for next year when I’m there?

Thanks for all you do mom.  I love you always and pray about yall and I will talk to you next week.
Elder Webb

*An email he got from the guy at the Harmony Club where he is doing a lot of work.

Hello Elder Webb,

You guys have been a huge help breathing life into this building.  Hope you and Elder Dawson will be staying a bit longer.

The Chairman says Thank You for your hard work.  You guys are the hardest working blokes in Alabama.

Much appreciated, Bill

**This was a funny part of his personal email to his dad. Haha

A lot of people swear a lot like the guy at the harmony club.  He cusses so much.  I don’t tell mom that because I don’t want her to think it’s going to rub off on me. It’s not!  I’m strong. There’s a lot of things that Ash wouldn’t like and neither would mom. They’d be like YOU LIVED HERE! Lol!

September 5, 2017

Hey mom!!!!!!!

This week was a lot of fun.  I was happy for most of the week.  We had an exchange and we had a district activity today.  Update for Doc is that she is getting interviewed by president on Wednesday, that’s when we are having our interviews. Labor day we did service for a guy. Here’s my week!

MONDAY- After we emailed we went to a dinner appointment with a member and I shared the spiritual thought and then we went to Walmart and then we went to Docs and then we went home.

TUESDAY- We went over to the train depo and we took nails out of wood and then we got a call from pres wanting us to ask doc if she would like an interview that day.  So we asked doc and then she said no not today and so I hung up and told pres.  Then I got a call from a member telling me to back off and don’t rush her. So then I just got a little peeved and then we went and talked to Beth and then I got another call from the members and they said doc will let you know when she’s free.  Then we went to the Hickory Pit and had lunch and then we went to Docs to help with some trees and she’s like "I hope yall got your butts chewed out” and then the rest of the day went better.  We settled stuff down and then we went and had dinner and tried to see some people and then we went  home for the night.

WEDNESDAY- Today we went to book club and then we went home and Camden came for an exchange and so we went to Docs and painted her master bedroom and then we had dinner with her because the painting took most of the day.  Then we went home and showered and me and Elder Allen went to try to see some people and then we went to a tractor depo and looked at the stuff and then we went home.  I bought everyone frostys.

THURSDAY- This morning I took Elder Allen to the Hickory Pit and then we went and studied and then we went to the food pantry and did some service and then we went to some pawn shops.  Then Camden Elders went home and I slept because I had a headache and then we went to Docs and then we went home and had dinner. We went and tried to see some people and that was it.

FRIDAY- We got up and we went to district meeting and I had to give a preach my gospel training on the light of Christ and then we went to the Martins and had lunch.  We went home and went over to Docs and then went home and got ready to go to a dinner appointment and there was someone that we taught there and we gave them a Book of Mormon and a restoration pamphlet and then we went to the Harmony club after that.

SATURDAY- We went over to the Harmony club and helped them tear some of their ceiling down and then they fed us and we worked till 4 and then we went home and showered and then we went to docs and then we went to see some people and that was it.

SUNDAY- We went to church and I bore my testimony and then after church we went home and had lunch and then we went to see Docs and have a love language lesson.  Then we went and tried to see some people.  One person gave us food and then we went home after that.

MONDAY- We went over to the Harmony club and took more ceiling down and then we went home and showered at 5 and then had dinner and saw doc and then ended the night there. Dawson wasn’t feeling well.

TUESDAY- We had a district activity so me and Dawson went to dirt cheap and I found an official bocce set for 4 bucks so I got it and we played bball and bocce in Camden at a park.  Then we had a bbq and that was it.

(In response to me venting about peoples driving in the carpool line at Tyler’s school)  Well just think about it. Heavenly Father loves everyone.  He loves you just as much as the JERK in front of you so why would you want to treat them any different than He treats you? Lol. That’s the best I got. You think you hate peoples driving up there? People don’t know what a blinker is and people drive aggressively here.

I’ve told grandma I’ve been looking over the past letters I’ve gotten and I can’t believe I’ve changed lives. It’s weird how I can make someone’s day. I mean I’m just me that’s it.

Tonight we are gonna go over to docs and Elder Dawson is gonna do stuff to docs car.
I miss the bike a little but I like the car better.

I’m not wanting to get transferred. Lol. I’m ok with staying in Selma.

We do more service with Doc than teaching her the gospel.  We will occasionally talk with her about stuff but she’s set with getting baptized. That’s pretty much what we do here in Selma.  All service projects!

Elder Dawson and I are getting along fine.  He makes Selma sound more bad than it really is but oh well that’s his opinion. He complains that the people suck and it smells horrible. He complains a lot. Lol.

We just told pres we will setup a time and now it’s on Wednesday. We have our personal interviews with the pres on Wednesday also.  So everything is situated now. We are all praying for her.

LOVE YOU TOO MOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! STAY STRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
